A PRIORI

Read-through genes, such as ARPC4-TTLL3, are commonly found in mRNAseq fusion studies. Read-through genes represent physiological phenomena not related to cancer. However, from an analytical point of view, they mimic intrachromosomal, non reciprocal fusions. The processing of read-through data may thus steal resources from the analysis and may therefore slow down the whole process. To overcome this problem, FusionAnalyser allows the user to define a set of custom a priori filtering pairs, such as ARPC4 and TTLL3, that can be filtered out in the early phases of the analysis.

The A Priori filter is inactive by default (blue arrow). When the filter is activated (purple arrow), a ‘Load a priori filter file’ button appears (red box), allowing the user to select a custom, tab/new line delimited, list of gene pairs. On the bottom, an example of an a priori  list.
